A Fantasy Novel That You Must-Read!

I give a lot of importance to world building while reading fantasy novels. For example, I think Tolkein is the best when it comes to creating a whole new universe and making it seem realistic and relatable, almost so influential that you cannot forget about it even after you are done reading the whole series. When I read INKREDIA Luwan of Brida by Sarang Mahajan , I was really surprised at how the author has managed to do a great job of creating an alternate universe of Inkredia on his own. Not only that but he has made sure to use it well to narrate his story of Luwan’s journey to safety better. This book gives me hope to read more Indian authors.

India is fortunate to have writers like Arundhati Roy, Khushwant Singh, Arvind Adiga, Jhumpa Lahiri, R. K. Narayan etc., who have made India proud in the world of novels and literature. But what disappoints me are the Fantasy writings that are coming up these days. They are claimed to fall in the Fantasy genre only on the basis of few magical elements and a non-existent worlds and creatures.
